Elephant Week 2026

Welcome to the Elephant Week 2026.

The Elephant Foundation – How, What, Why?

Human / Wildlife conflict is the largest threat to our wildlife and wild areas, over taking poaching in the years since the turn of the century. We are all aware of the ravages of the loss of our wildlife. It is estimated that we have lost about 75% of our wildlife in the past 50 years or so and it takes passionate people, those who are prepared to stand up and be counted, to work to reverse this trend.

With all this bad news it is easy to become disenchanted with efforts being made to save what remains. However, it is vital for future generations that we do. There is good news and among many who work tirelessly to improve the condition of our planet, two young people in particular stand out to me as leading the way, demonstrating to us that progress can and is being made. Both are young, both are from non privileged backgrounds and both are from third world countries. Neither had laboratories to experiment from or high tech equipment to establish their creations. Attached you will find a bio of each of our guests and what they have created and achieved.

The Elephant Foundation celebrates advances made in the protection of wildlife and the communities that share the land. Since 2014 we have organised school talks, Elephant Weeks and support for people on the ground who make a difference. Believing strongly that education is the key to giving people the knowledge as to why we need to change, we have spoken with over 50,000 students in Hong Kong and have sponsored dozens of students through their education in Africa, predominantly in Kenya. Further, empowering local communities to make a difference we support rangers in providing them with accident insurance, giving them peace of mind to continue their work knowing that, should something go wrong, they and their families will be looked after. Since 2019 we have also worked closely with Lionlights where we provide funding for lights to be given to rural homesteads, allowing their livestock to be protected from predators which, at the same time, protects predators (themselves endangered) from retaliation killing.

We rely on donations from the public and corporates to allow our work to continue. Part of this is people becoming a Friend Of The Elephant Foundation, part comes from donations and the bulk of our funding comes from our annual dinner

The Elephant Foundation Dinner

Held each year since 2014 the highlight of our dinners have been our guests brought in to speak to audiences during the week. This year we are having a slightly different format in that the dinner will be held at Avalon Restaurant in H Queens building in Central. With a maximum capacity of 60 people we are offering individual tickets and tables of 6 people. During the evening we will hold an auction, raffle and offering other ways people can support the Foundation. We will have a panel discussion with our guests, hosted by a pupil from Harrow International School – one of our formal partners in Hong Kong where we are a designated charity for 2026 and 2027.

Over the years our dinners have had various themes and this year will be Zebras. There is no formal dress code but we encourage lounge suit or dress in keeping with the theme.

Please find more information about our work in a short clip here - https://youtu.be/H9r5AzIKvBY?si=P5bMptXyjHJlLh_m We have also just published our Impacts book, electronic version of which can be found here  - https://heyzine.com/flip-book/826d854145.html

In order to continue this work we would very much value your support. I do hope you can join us at our dinner on 19th November though if you are unable to attend and wish to make a donation or learn more about how you can be involved please click here.
